I have spent a little time contemplating what the purpose of such a place would be. I began thinking about God and how the scriptures teach that God is love. So naturally I thought that since God is love, than the absence of God is hate. Notice I did not say the opposite of God. In nature, there is not an either or. There is no such thing as darkness, there is only the absence of light. Yet, light can go on forever and be infinitely radiant. It is the same with cold. It can only get to absolute zero, but there is no limit to how hot it can get. Therefore, cold is the absence of heat. This brought me back to the subject of hell and of God. The scriptures state that God is infinitely good. In fact, they say He is perfect. The path of the Christian is to try and obtain that perfection by the daily process of maturing that God puts us through. The Christian has eternity to grow into what God has made Him to be.(Whether it is instantaneous in eternity or not is beyond me because eternity does not deal with time in any sense I understand, if it deals with it at all) Therefore, if the Christian is always growing into this being that God created, than the devil, who is the opposite of God, is forever growing out of what God intended. Yet, there is no such thing as hate, and envy, and pride because these things are contrary to God. In a sense, they do not exist. This led me to believe that ultimately, only God and His children will exist, with all else fading into nothingness. Of course, this is all in my most humble opinion because I have no way of knowing for sure.
