I do not think you are construing your own analogy correctly. In fact, you do think she has a screw loose, and, if it is about something rather large, it is not a mere foible, either. The burning bush is a central religious symbol, and reflects the belief that God has intervened directly in human history for the benefit of mankind. It is a central event of revelation, especially insofar as the Law was promulgated to Moses. The whole point of it burning without being consumed is that it shows the power of God. It is also a image of Spirit, which can be visualized as fire or energy. Trash that, and you are trashing something quite sacred. I would say it is, in a much smaller way, of course, akin to the Taliban smashing the Buddhist statues. One takes a powerful religious "icon", and because it means nothing to one, or is even somewhat annoying, one trashes it. Not only is it contemptuous of those who believe, whether literally or "in a sense", in the burning bush, but it is rather Phillistine..........
