if you mean rdram , not yet. of course xbox uses ddr which rmbs claims they invented.the new version of xbox may use rdram for "stability" as per sony ps 2. btw. rmbs is a good buy here or any price just under 8. lots of downside resistance. yeah, been long for years. rocky

There is no RDRAM in the Xbox. It is unlikely in the extreme that there ever will be RDRAM in the Xbox.

1) Game machines have never been changed during their lifetime. This is why all games run on their respective machines. This is a huge part of the value of consoles.

2) The boxes are likely sold at a loss in order to generate profits from the sale of software. Microsoft has to come up with the funds to cover this loss. RDRAM designs cost more than DDR designs. The pressure is strong to reduce the Bill Of Materials (BOM) of a game machine, not increase it.

3) nVidia is responsible for the main chip, they have no current RDRAM product and have shown no intention of designing one.

Of course, if you are long this stock, it might be nice to fantasize that uSoft would change the hardware and use an orphaned memory design.
