WOW, good point. Not only that Dale, I am tracking some time cycles and double bottoms that happened in March a few years ago as well. Perfect match to what is playing out now with this previous top!!!

AMAT splitting its stock may also be another hint of confidence in their business going into year end.

Maybe it is another way to convince a very skeptical investor community that they are very bullish for this year. This may win over some more believers.
I would be willing to bet that those that had planned to bail out of AMAT (due to the high valuations) may now be rethinking their plans.

We might get our first stock split run up in a big tech name in a long time....and I doubt many people think it runs up like the old days of 2000. Plenty of shorts in this sector to help this along. That skepticism is probably going to be a key.

To me this is a test case to see if we are in a new bull market.<g>
