Dan B.,

Re: Maybe you are just being silly, eh?

Tell that to 130,000 steelworkers. To their face. Their reaction might make you think twice about your twinkie economic analysis.

Along these same lines, we had some wonderful financial innovations thrown up against corporate America in the 1980's. The magic junk bonds of the Michael Milken/Predator's Ball crowd ruined the lives of tens of thousands of Americans who were working for perfectly fine companies that were ruined by rapacious corporate raiders. They were the part of the non-populace you so conveniently disregard in your sophomoric rantings about the joys of a "free market". You really ought to think a little deeper about the actual human impact of your silly little theories, which conveniently all seem to lead to the same place, wealth accumulation by the elites at the expense of the other 98% percent of the non-population.

I don't quite understand why steel industry should get any special favors...I don't claim to be an expert on the subject....but if the chinese can pay their workers 30 cents an hour and make a go of it...I say more power to them...

Isn't that what this free market stuff is all about...Why are the steel workers any different than any other industry or private business man...

I don't see Bush bailing out other industries that go on hard times...

I guess they just have to decide if they want to have a steel industry in 10 years....If the chinese can do it with new equipment...Hey...I don't think the US steel industry stands a chance in hell...Big deal...

Gee...they can't cut the mustard...so lets bail them out?? What's up with that...?

Well if the steel industry is the heart of war racquet...then that totally justifies Bush being a hypocrit??

He didn't bail out Enron? Why should he bail out the steel workers?

All the more reason to let the steel dudes struggle...It's not my fault they pay them 30 bucks an hour.

It's not my fault the war is needed to justify the demand...that's not my problem...It's not the american publics problem...It's not george bushes problem...It's nobodies problem except the guys trying to justify the demand and facilitate the war racquet.
