I would suppose how you look at it.

I would probably give weight to either argument; I mean in the recent price action we did have a slight down trend ie considering the last 3 days. Then the hammer today; or look at intermediate uptrend ...base...base... hanging man. Still I like to think of a hanging man bulls still in control.

-edit- I was going to add; that one thing that I have noticed thoughout the years is that hammers/shooting stars/ and sometimes even hanging man often signify something. Often times they return to a price where some support or resistance is. Often times its a hint that the trend may reverse in regards to a hammer or shooting star.
