Even with that scabby twisted yellow pine from the slaveholders' land the US doesn't produce enough timber to satisfy domestic demand, they must import, that's a fact ... at the same time, that eastern mafioso lobby has been out to destroy BC for many many years, they may very well see the importing of siberian timber as serving their ends in that regard

All the stupidities of it, like the hitting of coastal BC the hardest when the competition to their crap pine comes from the interior, and percentage penalties on cedar [doh!] .... none of that matters at all, they're out to get BC, and anything else they say is bullshit
