Yikes! Ive never navigated in the SA winds of course, but I know the fear of cutting a mean wake and approaching a structure with no power to slow..it's a bad deal..one minute all is quiet then...

amazing how the wind can grab whatever is available and PUSH PUSH

Keeping Jorj in line is something I failed at long ago. Now I just watch and commiserate with his wife.

those Santa Ana winds sound like some pretty dangerous business. Sailing in rough conditions can be a very serious business. I had a next store neighbor in Sydney, who was killed while sailing.

and he had been a good sailor, he had been on the New South Wales University school sailing team.

It's great that your neighbors helped you get safely into port. :-)
