When you say "we" are you referring to "we" in the sense of you and your friends, or are you referring to "we" in the sense of your generation? In the former, that's nice that you sent letters to support the troops fighting, but if you are using "we" in the sense of your generation that's not true, the "we" in general, did not support the troops, they treated them very badly, & they should forever hold their heads in shame for their behavior.
As far as the war being right or wrong, I don't know..I think the Vietnamese people may be having some regrets that they didn't defeat the north, but how would that be measured? Who's going to go over there and take a survey? LOL.

IMO------The war was fought improperly, it should have never been fought, nor should any war be fought, unless the intentions are to win it, and not just dick around with the enemy. Asking people to risk life and limb in a half assed effort is not only unfair, but it is immoral.

I disagree. VietNam was not wrong.......it served a purpose. Indeed the fall of the USSR yrs later
was proof that the purpose was worthwhile & ultimately successful.
