<<Now if I own stock in a company that some research prick determines may have profited by slavery I need to be punished.>>

Another "Get Whitey" suit?

I don't see the logic either.

1) It was 140 years ago

2) None of the people suing were directly affected as none of them were slaves.

The result is I don't think any sort of rational financial settlement can be reached as far as its true societal cost in todays dollars. It would seem to me that a more logical lawsuit would be to sue their own relatives of today for occupying 50% of the jails when the "African American" culture itself only represents 12% of the population. That is a cost that can be measured and quantified!

The only proper legal remedy is to reverse the effects of slavery by forcing whites to be the slaves of blacks.

I am offering to be Halle Berry's slave. <g>

There are already financial reparations institutionalized, by our government, for the victims of slavery. These programs are better known as affirmative action and welfare. You will never hear any politicians concede this point. Honesty is a political poison pill.

Sometimes I wonder what does more harm for black America's fight for autonomy? The liberals' "guilty white man syndrome" or the black man's constant portrayal as a helpless victim of society. At some point in time, we must all look forward rather than dwell in the past....
