Noticing someone's race is not the same as having the deck stacked unfairly against someone because of race. In my previous career, I worked and lived with many whites, blacks and hispanics. Occasionally there would be a race based altercation, but it didn't come close to having the deck adversely stacked.

Many types of people are treated differently from the norm in their daily encounters with others. Hispanic people, fat people, bald people, old people, black people, asian people, short people. So sit back and enjoy the differences because that's life. Not deck stacking.

RE:Her race is always a factor in peoples' eyes, until they get to know her well enough to have it fall away.

Well, isn't that just part of human nature? I'm sure that my race(and gender for that matter) is a factor as to how I am judged by others, since they are two obvious attributes of mine that people can see at our first meeting. It happens to everyone. I guess I'm not sure what your point is.
