Dropping bombs is one example of something the West must do but shouldn't expect to change attitudes.

Ten, I worry that "dropping bombs" has become a knee jerk reaction to solving problems in the Middle East and elsewhere. I only see "dropping bombs" as a way to buy us time so that we can come up with less destructive ways to bring change and improvement in our relations with the Middle East.

Getting Arafat to renounce terrorism is another.

Personally, I think Arafat is too ambivalent when it comes to terrorism vs peace. And I think that ambivalence comes from his not wanting Israel as a neighbor. For that reason, I think he needs to be replaced.
