On the negative side: this was equally true since the introduction of the (old) iMac and yet it hasn't happened.

oh contrare, apple's market share doubled when the old iMac was introduced and then revamped to the color line, market share went to something like 9%....(ranged between 6% to 12%, at different points in time). it has since been working it's way down in marketshare, because of the huge time span between the last successful old iMac major revision (after the color line), and the new iMac.....

if apple can get their production straightened around, they easily could double market share, but that is misleading to say, in reality, apple sells lots of computers when they have something new, and few when they don't, it still averages out to be about 5% market share...... no big deal.....

but shareholders are well rewarded when apple makes a great product, and it can build them quickly........

if also apple can close the gap between new products launches, then market share would increase...... in that case the stock would be up about 5 times to six times....

in addition to those two; if they get that d*mn PPC to 3ghz like it is supposed to be right now, the stock would be up 10 times (minus some for dilution now).....
