Well, that's funny because it's so ludicrous that an atheist teacher would do that, and funny that she's a bitch and Lucy is "beautiful."

But the humor of the basic joke (which isn't the funniest joke on earth, but is amusingly clever) is not that the teacher is a bitch except insofar as the clever riposte by the lovely Lucy is "set up" to be a satisfying surprise in the context of the bitchery.

The bitchery adds, but could be dispensed with.

But an analysis of the nature of humor isn't the point. The point i was making is that I've heard quite a few jokes about atheists in my life and never been offended by one.

and neither has anyone else I've ever met.
