Analyst Monica Gould at CS First Boston said the announcement from Adelphia Communications (ADLAC) that fourth-quarter digital subscribers numbers were ahead of expectations "bodes well" for Scientific-Atlanta (SFA). Gould noted that Adelphi is one of S-A's top 4 customers. The stock is up 48 cents, or 2.2 percent, at $22.76. Meanwhile, she reiterated her "hold" rating, saying longer-term inventory management issues still remain.
