Was that what Intel was doing with the Aberdeen Research piece? An early April Fools Joke?

We have not seen any hard evidence about the Intel backing yet. But if Intel did pay for the report and deliberately concealed that fact, then AMD should sue them without hesitation.

You can see that I regard it as less of a joking matter.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Mar 27, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Intel today announced that it has filed a lawsuit against long-time rival AMD, claiming AMD's Quantidate(tm) infringes on Intel's VapourWhere?(tm) technology.

Intel claims in their lawsuit that AMD's new strategy of announcing products before actual samples could be purchased not only breached Intel's trademarks and patents, but was also an Intel trade secret.

Spunky Intel also served a DMCA violation notice on the hard-nosed AMD, forcing them to withdraw product information for every item not currently in stock.
