So... under your scheme... if 'human life begins at conception and should be protected as such', then:

1) Most forms of birth control would be illegal.

2)Cigarette smoking, drinking, medications (legal and illegal), over-indulgence in fatty fast foods by the mother could easily all also be illegal... because of the harm to the unborn.

3) Perhaps investigations of the lifestyle of the prospective mother would begin formally at every miscarrage... the better to determine if some lapse or fault of the woman caused the 'death'.

4) Oh wait... What about the man? How can we determine his culpability in some of these events... or should we leave all of the onus to 'perform morally' up to the women?

" human life begins at conception "

Is there not life in a human egg before conception, or in a sperm???
