The only thing I think is bad about hunting is that the hunter kills the best of the herd, while the wolf or mt lion kills the worst. The hunting laws say you can't shoot deer that don't have a certain length horn, which means you are killing the biggest horned deer. That deer, I would imagine would be the "best" of the herd. It's kind of backwards. Do you kind of see what I am getting at? Nature culls the weakest, man culls the strongest. I don't have anything other than that against hunting, I think it's a great sport.

Fascinating tale, Dave Ellen, however I've just resolved to become a vegetarian. <g> Anyone who hunts un-endangered species for necessary sustenance is justified in doing so. Why would the elk die during winter? What's their usual diet?
