I agree I traded out of my scalp a litlle early this Am but profitably. Take a look at TER I am hearing from the ORCL guy that they are going to miss their growth estimates by alot. No gaurentee, but he is usially pretty good. I am waiting for 40-42 and ill short it myself.

I wuz just sit'n and stink'n the same thing AA. Either it's broke and I can't fix it or the VIX is trying desperately to tell us something. Back on August 28, 2000 it went to 18.13, but look what happened next! and it wasn't that OEX set a new high either! gg In case you're wondering, OEX clocked in at 834 on 9/1/00, -- and it ain't been there since!

Now I'm not saying that past performance is any measure of future #&^%$##$, but, but,,,,, ggggg

Good luck to all and a happy safe prosperous holiday

Paul K.

AA, I found this to be fascinating -
I hadn't really thought of the vix in % terms before -

My inclination is to go with the price action and structures, but true, the simple fact of life is that lows in VIX are associated with highs in the markets.

We all recall last summer… we had a monstrous impulsive run in the Spring, and then a long grinding overlapping ‘corrective’ flat action, which eventually broke down and accelerated to new lows.

Interesting how all these doubts build up when the ADX is down ;-)

Allan: In the larger timeframe, the OEX and SPX for that matter are in the general area of the lows last April when the Vix was spiking in the 40s. Now we are below 20 VIX and what do we have to show for a year later? Nothing.
