At least that money can be channeled into the best possible allocations of resources through the capital markets. The big rip-off, and the one that threatens us all, is the robbing of every citizen to pay bureaucrats who waste resources, keep the less-fortunate trapped in their condition, and oppress us all.

I'll take that overpaid shortstop-in exchange for 1,000 bureaucrats-any time...
