YOU come perilously close to slandering an entire class of citizens

My father trained as a Jesuit -- though left before taking his vows. My childhood was spend living next to a Jesuit retreat. My parents had a number of Jesuit friends, some of whom eventually left the order and re-trained as Episcopals in order to live lives which they felt were more amenable to their personalities.

I am a parent, and I condemn without reservation those priests who have betrayed their trust by abusing children or youths.

In the Boston archdiocese, the names of 90 priests have been turned over to prosecutors by the Cardinal, out of the 900 total. I wouldn't be surprised if 10% turns out to be the national average.
