Craig,re:"How come we need mass immi.?" Cheap intelligent labors, maybe. Capitalism at its optimal prime ! You do see the 'extremes' are coming, don't you? The pace maybe slow, better prepare for what's coming at you. I don't know the ratio, I heard numbers throwing around like: 1 America programmer is equ. to 10 to 20 Chinese or Indians or .... Maybe that's why some American prefer to have 'dog' or 'cat' instead of baby. The 'curve' is not pretty for the future programers or alike (eg: EEers'). Of course, we can then become day-trader, 'managers' to take advantage of the massive talent pool available for us. Be aware, you can pay me now, or you can pay me later. It will catch up on you, in some way, somedays. Hey, that's not the current generations' problem. Let someone fix it down the road.
