Re: What are stock options for unless you sell some someday for a profit?

And AMD insiders have exercised options and sold the stock plenty in the past - too much, if you ask me.

But, holders of options get to time their buys and sells. It would appear that AMD insiders think they'll be able to get a better price for their options, soon, so they're waiting.

Last year, January through March, there were 27 AMD insider sales and 13 Intel insider sales.

This year January through march, there are 0 AMD insider sales and 37 Intel insider sales.

That's a pretty dramatic change, and I can't see any obvious reason for the sudden, dramatic change.

While it appears that the Intel insiders think that, near term, this is as good as it's going to get.

Which I find a bit puzzling, since none of us here on the threads are expecting any [positive] market moving news from AMD until late fall or early winter - at the earliest.

By market moving, I mean really substantial, like a 3400+ hammer release.

So why are the AMD insiders holding on to their options, as though they expected a big run up in the stock soon?

And why are so many Intel insiders exercising their options now, instead of waiting for the traditional summer rally?
