"Exactly what would you disregard?"

Any debate that focuses on endlessly-argued, strongly-felt specifics, and ignores the truth of the present.

Thought experiment: imagine you were suddenly deposited on this earth, unaware of the events predating the present, and were asked to convey your view of the alternatives facing Israel as you see it now.

"Strange, bizarre, and unbelievable."

Yes. It is strange, bizarre, and unbelievable that people would advocate death, destruction, and the horror of war - including the use of nuclear arms and the deaths of millions of innocents - before they will sit down at a table and try to negotiate a peace.

It is strange, bizarre, and unbelievable that people will endlessly argue about nit-picking specifics as the situation they are ostensibly "discussing" degrades into chaos and death.

Strange, bizarre, and unbelievable, indeed.
