It's ridiculous to criticize them for owning slaves in 1776 because that was the landowner system at that time << so if you think it's ridiculous to criticize our founding fathers for slavery, would you agree that it's ridiculous to criticize people who are against abortion and homosexuality in present times? >> I doubt that John Adams owned slaves << my mistake, i meant madison. you are correct, of the first seven presidents, only the two adams did not own slaves.
