Elmer, I'm surprised you would employ such poor reasoning. You are trying to blame all lawyers to deflect Intel of any responsibility for acting like a bully. It is Intel, not the Yoga group, that is threatening suit. This is about the senior executives at a powerful corporation using their lawyers to scare small companies into conceding to all uses of the phrase "[blank]Inside." Intel should not own the phrase "[blank]Inside" when it used in a manner wholly unrelated to the computer industry.

Elmer, now we know there are things experimental rats will not do for ethical or moral reasonns, and this is why we have lawyers.
As you can see their eyes are larger than their stomach and I am sure some wise judge will kick their shins.

Can you imagine Hooters trying to TM headlights?

There is some merit in your comment about having to defend their TM, however inside is such a common descriptive that I am sure it will not stand aa real challenge in court.

What about 'AMD inside" on a duron system. Just describes what is inside, so I would like to see some one sell their products that use AMD parts with AMD inside. No circular logo, a different one will do.

Since it is all made up of case law all it takes is a jury to change it all.

Bill

>By bet is that Intel would be more than happy to have this thrown out and the sooner the better but they have to go to extreme measures to keep some scumsucking lawyer from trying to make a case that Intel didn't defend their Trademark. Do you really think Intel cares about a yoga group? Get serious. This is about lawyers.<

This is the lamest excuse for an Intel action I have read. All Intel would have to do to protect their trademark would be to explicitly grant Yoga Inside an exemption. By accepting the exemption, Yoga Inside acknowledges Intel's rights to the trademark. The way they are pursuing it, if a court rules that it is not a violation Intel will have weakened their trademark, not strengthened it like they would by granting a specific exemption.
