They do nothing to help deter a pregnancy

I thought you said that Republicans stressed abstinence. Or maybe the definition of nothing has changed also.

"They do nothing to help deter a pregnancy yet they fight like crazy to avoid feeding that child once it's born"

Maybe it comes under the title of "personal responsibility for one's actions".

I know that's a way of thinking that has fallen out of favor amongst some people, but there's still a lot of wisdom in it.

Well, that is exactly why I am repulsed by their myopic agendas

>> Isn't it amazing that Republicans are against funding for coverage of birth control on government health insurance plans, in favor of coverage for Viagra, they are against abortion, and they are against the use of sex education except for abstinence programs. <<

i would be careful when labeling republicans, but i don't find it amazing that conservatives are against government sponsored birth control, against abortion, and support abstinence programs. those are all traditional beliefs grounded in morality and religion. that's usually what conservatives stand for.

>> They do nothing to help deter a pregnancy <<

what a ludicrous statement.

>> yet they fight like crazy to avoid feeding that child once it's born <<

if people were to observe traditional conservative principles like sex within the confines of marriage, and maintained respect for the laws of nature and our Creator, there would be little need for liberal welfare programs. furthermore, conservatives are not against charitable giving. we just believe it should be a function of the local community and churches. we don't believe it's a responsibility of government.

somehow the united states made out alright without welfare prior to the late 60's.
