Hawk, that's so self-evident that I thought it didn't need saying.

Then why did you state it??... You made it out like we weren't ALREADY perceived that way by Arabs... :0)

People stop fighting when they perceive that they have more to lose than to gain from engaging in warfare.

Arafat's ALWAYS been "protected", never having to face the ultimate repercussions for paying his people to blow themselves up. He's thought he was safe from being killed by virtue of his having received a Nobel peace prize in 1994.

But now he's effectively being "protected" by the Israelis, in what constitutes house arrest. And if he ever wants to leave those premises, rather than being humiliated in the eyes of his own people, he'd better focus on negotiating...

This time..for real...

Hawk

>>just to satisfy the blood lust on this thread.<<

If reaching a point of exhaustion with extremists who kill indiscriminately, who wear a religion they've had tailored with a machete to fit the fashion du jour according to their own delusional tastes, who won't negotiate but will strap on bombs or decapitate journalists on video, and saying "aw the hell with it, let's take out the worst of the buncha murdering thugs" qualifies as 'blood lust', so be it.

I just regarded it as a reasonable form of capital punishment to protect us from those who are a clear & certain menace to society, and mind you, I've long been an opponent of capital punishment.

But maybe you're right. Deep down inside, there's prolly a right wing John Bircher NRA fundamentalist survivalist militia posse comitatus inner childbeast with a $500-a-day hemoglobin habit.

Who knew? <GG>
