Most of the time the child is taken care of by it's family but some of the time it is not. Statistics have proven that it is cheaper for the taxpayers to intervene and help care for the child. To "turn one's back" and adopt a policy of "it's not my responsibility" will likely result in the child growing up in horrendous poverty. The likelihood of the child being incarcerated in the criminal justice system is high............and it costs an average of 40 thousand dollars a year without attorney and court costs figured in. You could give the kid a chance and a college education for that amount and he or she could support itself. Putting our heads in the sand and being selfish doesn't solve anything. Once life is on the earth it needs to be nurtured and fed. I'd rather put the money into the kids life while it is young instead of paying to keep it in jail as a harden criminal adult. We will pay for that child.....one way or another. And the likelihood is that the child's crimes will be perpetrated on someone who may pay a price higher than dollars can estimate. IT really is alot better to avoid the pregnancy in the first place...........few teens truly wish to get pregnant. Let's help them AVOID pregnancy...........if you are worried about money ...it's the cheapest method outlined in this post.
