Thanks for that information. I certainly do NOT believe in a "Personal God" myself. I think it absurd to endow God with the physical and emotional attributes of a human being. Picturing God as looking like Tom Cruise or Charlton Heston is ridiculous beyond belief. The quote from Einsten eloquently corresponds with my own religiosity:

My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality.

If one out of fifteen scientists actually believe in a "Personal God", I think that is an astounding testimony to the strength of religious belief ... that any scientist could have such need to acknowledge God's existence as to stretch their rationality to incorporate the concept of a Personal God.

If this is the concept you have been challenging, I think you are fighting a straw man that does not exist in the 21st century in the mind of any intelligent and informed person who believes in God. It certainly does not exist in the mind of any religious person that I know.

To prove otherwise would be a waste of a time, as it would only prove that, lamentably, superstitious, uncomprehending, and unthinking people still walk among us.
