Niceguy,

The UMC and Alchemy deals strongly indicate that AMD is positioning for an imminent turnaround and, with any general economic support (already begun, imo), a very strong FY03...True to AMD's recent history of market leading performace, while AMD is entering into longterm deals at this cycle low, its competitors are having to deal with the writing off of huge goodwill amounts in q1...By far, the biggest q1 news is going to be the humongous goodwill items, $5 billion in INTC's case, that these companies are going to have to grapple with...

The check's in the mail! First, if AMD does not make a profit in Q2, they will be a $10 stock a few minutes after the warning. Second, when Intel goes down, AMD goes down. Your dire predictions for Intel only bode badly for AMD. Third, AMD is having manufacturing problems at 0.13u. If they also have problems with SOI, Clawhammer will slip to mid '03. Forth, I suspect that Prescott will beat Clawhammer in performance.

Pravin.
