"Just about every show on any network is 10th grade level, " That's true, but Letterman, IMO, is simply silly, what with opening and closing his jacket and expecting a laugh, mugging for the camera expecting a similar result, and mouthing nonsense words...His monologue is about the half the time of Leno's and throwing pencils and awarding canned hams is not adult humor. I agree that much of Leno's stuff is off color but since his audience is also mostly young people I guess that's what is required. Have you notice that he has to explain what the joke is about before he tells it. An indication of how informed his audience is....
