Nemer & all, now your talking; the horses and golf. Do my betting at Santa Anita or Hollypark. Sometimes live but mostly off track. That way I can work New York, Kentucky, etc. tracks as well. Use the Bris site a lot for handicapping info. Anyone else use that site? Jim

To all, For those who believe we are wasting our time on this thread, look at these stats. Gambling was one of the best performing industries in the stock market for 3 months, one year and 5 years. screen.morningstar.com

So, we aren't railbird touts, we are analysts in an important industry. <g>

Mike ....

Houston Opera is great....
as to the co-relationship of opera and horseracing ----
have you forgotten tragedy? <grin>

You mentioned the bias at Rem causing low payoff ...
do you recall the first day of "SuperSix" at OP?

The elite ownership outlook of Charles Cella wouldn't entertain the idea of using the same nomenclature to identify his entry into "the most horrible of wagering" .... He called his ripoff --- "Classix" ....

anyway ... first day it was run ... forget what year, but a goodly while back ....

OP had a much greater bias for inside speed back then that it does now ....
lots of, and mean LOTS of the track regulars knew it too, and so the first payoff was verrrrrrrry disappointing to everyone --- seems as if it was about $135bucks -----
cause FIVE of the six winners came from the ONE hole .....
I didn't bet it then, and I don't bet it now, but it was hilarious to watch and listen to all the wails and gripes and cussing when the official payoff was announced .... hehehehe.

I knew one of the track management folks ... he said the word came down from upstairs that for the second day if there was ANY number ONE on top of the board there would be a brand new crew ...... LOL
they had the track sooooooo deep on the rail the next day it was evident to even a casual fan that "something had been done" ..... LOL
