Telecom Argentina suspending debt payments to Ericsson

Crying over Argentina

Finally, the announcement on Tuesday by Telecom Argentina, the incumbent in the north of the country, that it was suspending debt payments put Ericsson [000010865, News, Chart, Research] [ERICY, News, Chart, Research] [ERI, News, Chart, Research] shares under pressure on Thursday.


The Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri said Telecom Argentina was also negotiating with Ericsson on payment of goods delivered. This could cause the company to report further Latin American write-offs.
