Agreed. Good news & CPQ goes nowhere because of the merger. Bad news and it goes down because of the merger. HWP closes their quarter a month after CPQ and HWP is looking to close the deal before they warn. HWP will warn because all that proxy battle spending comes right off the bottom line. So no help there.

The merger then generates big one time write offs and lay offs for about four or five quarters. Management will use the write off opportunity to throw everything in but the kitchen sink. Competition will be spreading FUD and stealing accounts while HWP fights internal culture battles. HWP and old DEC culture wins the battle about January 2004, and the stock will worth about $20.
