You might recall that engineer discussed this a while back at one of the Q boards. If I recall correctly, he had been involved in the study of technologies such as 802b.11, concluding that they were not economic in the long run.

Say SBX wants to wire all of its coffee houses and offer 802b.11 for free, how is it going to pay for maintenance and upkeep? Will the increased amount of coffee it sells pay for the service?

Where does VoiceStream come in and how does it get compensated?

If SBX charges for the experience, how many people will go to a coffee house to sit on their butts and pay to do what they can do at work or at home?

When DO becomes a reality, it may deal a severe blow to 802b.11 because it will offer true mobility, not just the mobility inherent in going to have your cup of coffee refilled or walking around in an airport.
