Elmer,

Just like the one that said the 486SX was just a DX with a bad FPU.

I seem to recall that the real story was that 486SX did not have an FPU, but the FPU plug-in was a full fledged 486DX that completely took over, while requiring 486SX to contintue to be plugged into the socket (in order to prevent it from flooding back to the market).
