John,

How does this:

The recent Arab League support of Crown Prince Abdullah's initiative for peace is promising, is hopeful because it acknowledges Israel's right to exist. And it raises the hope of sustained, constructive Arab involvement in the search for peace.

Mean this:

Bush made a rather large point of underling a demand that the Israelis build no more settlements and that his view of a negotiation outcome was the same as Abdullah's--67 borders and recognition of Israel by the Arab states

I see no mention of 67 borders-take-it-or-leave-it, do you? He is praising it as a starting point for negotiations, which is not what it was meant as.
