one that has unfortunately had to be eliminated form the history books, being a bit embarrassing.
Are talking about the war that the Filipinos fought against the US for independence after the Spanish-American War?

Another dishonor was the unredeemed promise of citizenship and veteran's benefits that the US made to Filipinos that fought on the US side in WW2. Something like the "20 acres and a mule" promised to black Civil War vets.
