Hi enigma,

I quite understand what sandintoes is asking for. I don't happen to agree, but would defend until my dying breath his or her right to hold that opinion.

I can also understand where you're coming from when you write what you do. I'm rather not sure if we should rely on imitating other countries's policies or not.. My knee jerk reaction is to say that we shouldn't as a country simply follow the herd on this issue, but of course, my opinions and intuitions are on occasion subject to change.

>"They should be allowed to worship their own religion, but not flaunt it, or fling it into our faces"

Yeah. I'm tired of those Christians always proselytizing too. ;) Just joking, as I am a Christian myself. I understand the urge to proselytize, though I don't engage in the behavior myself, at least not consciously.

>"Like sandintoes, I am sick and tired of molly coddling a bunch of ingrates that came here to make money, and better their living
>conditions, and then turn around an disrespect our nation."

Really just two responses I have to this. First off, and this is not at all a rejection or complaint with your line of argument or sentiment, but i was just wondering what molly coddling you yourself have done for immigrants personally. I've actually never participated in such activity myself, at least not to my knowledge. The second response is another question. In what ways have you seen immigrants disrespecting the United States? There are a great many activities that are considered by some governments to be "disrespect" towards that nation, but that are in fact utterly allowed, in fact encouraged, by the type of arrangement which we've got here in America. I was just wondering if you meant to use the word disrespect in the manner in which the other countries mentioned use the word, as you've stated that you wish other aspects of America to be changed to be like other nations as well. Really just hoping to clarify for myself your meaning is all.

I understand where you're coming from, and while I most likely disagree, I think that we're both the better from the dialogue.

Take care,
-Tom
