Gordon,

We have flown the flag for yrs....even before Sept 11. However, I don't understand how anyone can get upset with those who protest by burning it? That's better than blowing up a government building isn't it? Afterall, the flag is only the visual representation of liberty--not the real thing. I don't condone it but as the liberals love to exclaim....it's a free country isn't it?....ha ha ha....that was a first, I rarely have an opportunity to chant that phrase.

One of the staunchest supporters of flag burning, surprisingly, is Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republican Hardhead of Kentucky. He is, of course, the leading foe of campaign finance reform; he classifies flag burning as free speech ... just as he does "soft money." Sometimes, right-wingers are so far to the right that they're actually left on some issues.
