Mark,

Welcome back! Hope you had a nice vacation ... at the library! :o)

I just ran across GainsKeeper. Do you use something like this? Thoughts? Recommendations?

You have often reminded me of my biggest trading problem: not exiting bad trades while they are still small losses. I think part of it is that I fear creating a large number of trades. It is always such a nightmare to put together the Schedule D each year, even for a part-timer like myself, that I prefer holding a dropping stock instead of exiting and looking for a better entry. I would love the freedom of not having to slave over generating a Schedule D every year. I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes each year (OK, taking my $3,000 loss each year, work with me here ...), but I despise the paperwork. For ~100 bucks, this seems like a great solution. And if it makes it easier to eject from a bad trade and use tight stops, it could pay for itself many times over in just one trade ... such as the AIRN I bought at 2.52 in January !!! :o| Exiting quickly and re-entering on today's white candle would have paid for a lifetime membership in GainsKeeper!

Anybody try this software?

All comments welcome here or on the new GainsKeeper thread that I just created.

Thanks!

Ken

Mark, SNWL has a nice rebound yesterday. Bought at 7, catching a falling knife (g). The news didn't seem quite as bad as Thursday's trading would imply, I don't think.

Any TA thoughts on this? Thanks.

Jeff
