GTC, I think Turbotax (with Quicken-Deluxe)is the most popular software for this purpose. It was reasonably fast this year, less than a half hour to Import transactions and make the Schedule D, I think. On an older computer (20mB RAM), it took 4-6 hours in '99 and '00 to generate the Schedule D from about 1500 and 2000 transactions and then plodded along multiple minutes per tax question. Glad I upgraded :) Haven't heard of Gainskeeper. Jeff
