Andreas
re: Regarding the mid east conflict I don't think there's an easy solution. But IMO both the recent intervention of the US and the peace proposal from Saudi Arabia are steps in the right direction.

Bush got it's own agenda with Iraq for time been and hence he is trying to calm things down in Palestine for now. The problem with that that one can not negotiate with terrorists or the one's who support them.

How would you feel if after September 11 Bush would call bin Ladin and say something like:

"hey, boddy, it was not nice of you but if you promise not to do that again I will give you all East and West coast states. We will keep midwest, please"
Palestinians need their land but they should not have it while terrorists are in control. If palestinians would continue to support terrorist then the only possible solution is the war, US style that is using bombers.

Andreas, Re: <I think these Nazi comparisons lead to nothing.>

I followed and agreed with your analogy. I concur with your opinion that casting the Muslim world as 'bad guys' is *NUTS*.

But I'm afraid there are some fairly 'smart' people around here who seem to think that way.

And there is a tendency around the world to like the easy way.

And for now, the easy way seems to be suicide bombs and tanks.

Much easier than saying religion has no place in state government or policies.

And It'll be a long time before Israel admits that.

>Every reasonable person should IMO understand that drastic military interventions (like US invading Arabia) can't be a solution.

So how do you stop them from supporting terror?

>Regarding the mid east conflict I don't think there's an easy solution. But IMO both the recent intervention of the US and the peace proposal from Saudi Arabia are steps in the right direction.

I'm going to say it over and over- the peace proposal is a sham.
