When Hitler rose to power, it would have been relatively easy to prevent him starting World War II. With terrorism it's different because it's spread across the world and driven by ideology, not a single person or group. Of course it will help to destroy terrorist bases like those in Afghanistan. But in the long term you can only "win" over terrorism IMO if you try to solve the problems that lead to it. What if "solving the problems that lead to it" includes doing something really bad, like agreeing to get rid of Israel? Not that I believe that Israel is Al-Qaida's biggest priority... -Z

Long time ago, we had the same problem in Medina between Muslim population and 3 tribes of Jews that lived there. All it took is to put to death 900 man and their wifes and children (1 of the tribes) and the remaining 2 tribes flee away. No Jews = no Problem. And it was peace thereafter, that is until now when Jews came back....
