Not sure if you care what I have to say on the issue, but here goes...

There were many Palestinian terrorists in the refugee camps in Lebanon sneaking out and attacking both the Christians and the Israeli soldiers. Sharon's soldiers went to guard the camps to prevent more attacks.

During this time, the Christians were chomping at the bit to try to get back at the Palestinians. Of course, they couldn't do it because Sharon was in charge.

Unfortunately, Israel wasn't accomplishing much, and there were a lot of casualties on the Israeli side. Sharon decided to pull out. As soon as he did, the Christians went in and massacred the Palestinians. Sharon was actually forced to resign because his failure to prevent the massacre was seen as a major f**k-up, but there really wasn't much he could've done.

Sharon is an old coot, but he's really not that bad of a guy.
