"milo, Looks like Intel does use SOI.
theinquirer.net;

And why did anyone ever think otherwise?

The DT stuff is a subset of the larger class of SOI technologies.

The revelation in the Inquirer is akin to saying something like "Intel admits to having a CMOS process, so I guess they _are_ a maker of MOS devices!"

BTW, I saw Intel's work on SOI in 1974, being done by Dave Wanlass and Bob Nungester. And later, by Jake Haskell and his group in the late 70s. And so on. My own papers from the late 70s have evaluations of SOI (and my co-author, Murray Woods, was a leading SOS worker at RCA before joining Intel).

Intel has long researched SOI. They'll introduce it into products if and when it makes product sense.

That Jerry has claimed a miraculous lead over Intel has been...typical.
