Jacob--Even tho I completely agree with your analysis of the Mideast situation, I view the recent AMAT split as being a strong vote of confidence by the people closest to the profit figures. If management were not quite confident that share price would go up, they would not, IMO, split. We'll see...

Re: the Mideast. IMO, if the only tool one has is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Sharon only knows military and sees tanks as the solution, while Arafat only knows terrorism, and sees suicide bombers as the solution. Neither has the political vision, wisdom, or skills necessary to address the strife. I personally get disgusted when I hear either side interviewed. They only know accusations and not problem-solving skills. I now turn off the channel. I was impressed that Barak, a military man, could see the political side. That led nowhere.
