<<"Standing up to Palestinian terrorism" means condoning throwing tear gas into the Church of the Nativity? This, I saw with my own eyes on television.>>

IMO, Sharon and his IDF are skating on THIN ICE by pushing things way too far...he is putting his biggest supporter (The U.S.) in an increasingly tough position in The Middle East, causing Arab nations to consider oil embargos, and ignoring the wishes of the President of The United States...In fact in the last few hours Bush said again very clearly that he wants Israel to start withdrawing NOW. Israel should create some good will BEFORE Colin Powell arrives to help pave the way for a cease fire and a serious round of negotiations for peace.

CB,

I support the Mitchell Plan.

The Pals have already rejected a two state solution and, for a moment, let's take Sharon out of the equation since the Pals virtually elected him in that hastily called election after this slaughter of Jews in Israel began. Remember, this wave of violence began during the post CD II talks in Taba. This was the Pals response to negotiations.

What would you have the Jews do? Should they roll over and die or start swimming for Europe assuming that there is a European country that would allow them in?

How would you fight the terrorists? Maybe you would rather that the IDF carpet bomb a couple of the smaller Pal cities or machine gun a couple of thousand civilians as lesson to the rest? We're all waiting for your expert solution.

Paul

When one of those terrorists straps on explosives and blows up a restaurant in NY or California, maybe then you will figure out what terrorism is.
Are the Israelis behaving any differently than Americans did against the Taliban? I think not...
I think both countries reacted to terrorism the same way.

If these zealots see that they can achieve their desired results by using suicide bombers, how long before it becomes the international weapon of choice?
