is the whole US economy about to get enroned in the u know wat =g=

while these st daily reports can sway markets st, i do believe that most of these govt. stats are reasonably accurate, and even if they are wrong the pervasive IT system should catch that and send the proper signals to the market.

The IT revolution has brought a bright light on information provided to the public, and misinformation first shows up on drudge, and then makes it up the ranks to the jerry springer show, then to the nightly news with tom brokaw -gg- (i'm just kidding i like tom brokaw-g-)

There is a saying I use with students to teach them about data quality in our business: Garbage in, Garbage out. You can massage it, manipulate it or outright screw it around, but it will still be garbage!

The markets are being fed garbage and it is be called "data". Sooner or later the general population will realise that king has no clothes!
